Democracy In Suffrage had a press release on the twenty six of September, and planted the seed. Knowing that it was going to take time for this new entity to show growth and progress. Now starting to sprout with several actions under our roots. Democracy In Suffrage is ready to face the press, and followers again to update all, on the progress of our endeavors. Mapping out and releasing the next step of operation.
Political action is all well and good, but if we do not educate as we go, how will we get the message out there. That women's rights, or human rights have been violated. That the now is here, and it is time for people to stand up and say enough is enough. That through action we can take on and address the culprit.
On the last press release it was brought to our attention on that Friday a certain well known magazine issued an article called “The Sexy Puritan”. The article in question came with a visual of Governor Sarah Palin; “The Sexy Puritan.” The article, which purports to examine Governor Palin’s impact as a “powerful new Christian right archetype” is capped by an illustration of Palin in high heels, perched on a stool, with her chest popping out of her skimpy dress and a bible squeezed between her bare thighs. This article and the accompanying illustration were also featured prominently on the front page of the magazine with article, Saturday October fourth. The article went so far as to mention, or put in references of a blog “Christian Nymphos”. I can go on and on about this grievous article and this magazine. But the point is this was not a rag or a tabloid this was a serious journalistic magazine, tied to a prominet news paper.
Why in the year 2008, 160 years of battles for women's rights, it seems we lost ground not gained. When a national organization that grew out of the struggle for women's rights have either dropped the ball turned a blind eye or sold out completely.
Democracy In Suffrage calls this press release to demand action, and lay out a course of action...
